Cold wave to get bitter as Delhi braces for more rain; fog disrupts flight & train services
GUWAHATI, Jan 12: Delhi is poised to receive light to moderate rain on Sunday, the India Meteorological Department stated, which is likely to further intensify the cold wave.
Delhi and NCR received light rainfall on Saturday evening. Although the rains further plummeted temperatures, the air quality improved offering much-needed relief to people struggling with air pollution.
The air quality which had remained in the ‘very poor’ category for the past many days improved to “poor”.
Meanwhile, some flights were delayed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport due to fog and reduced visibility while the journey of several trains was also affected, reports said.
Apart from Delhi-NCR, several other regions in North India also saw a dip in temperatures while some places in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh received fresh snowfall.
