People of Samaguri will end dynastic politics of Rakibul Hussain, says CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI, Nov 7: People of Samaguri constituency will play a decisive role this time and end the dynastic politics of Rakibul Hussain’s family, said Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing a massive campaign rally in Samaguri LAC which goes to by-polls on Nov 13.

Chief Minister Sarma said Rakibul Hussain doesn’t want a grassroots-level Congress worker to become MLA. That’s why the Congress MLA from the constituency has been from his family — first his father Nurul Hussain, then he became MLA and minister and now the ticket has been awarded to his son Tanzil.
He also went on to say that in future, it will be Tanzil’s children who will get the Congress ticket from Samuguri.

“For several decades, people of Samaguri have seen that Rakibul Hussain’s family is representing the constituency. That’s where the difference between BJP and Congress lies. Diplu Ranjan Sarma has no political lineage but he has been given the ticket by BJP. But in Congress it has been Nurul Hussain first, then Rakibul Hussain and now Tanjil. In the future it will be Tanzil’s children who will get Congress ticket,” Chief Minister Sarma said.

“People of Samaguri will end the dynastic politics of Rakibul Hussain this time and that Diplu Ranjan Sarma will win by a very big margin,” CM Sarma added.

He was also critical of Rakibul’s controversial comment made a few days ago when the present Dhubri MP had said that since he had given government jobs to many youths of Samaguri constituency, they are bound to campaign for his son Tanzil.

“The youths about whom Rakibul Hussain has been saying are government employees and are paid salaries by the government and not by him. How can anybody have the audicity to make such statements,” he questioned.
