Guwahati: Birubari teenager drowns in Brahmaputra, SDRF divers recover body

GUWAHATI, Nov 15: SDRF divers recovered the body of a teenage boy, said to be around 14 years of age, who went to have a bath at the Brahmaputra river at Sukreswar Ghat in Guwahati yesterday and reportedly got swept away.

The deceased has been identified as Amit Chauhan of Birubari locality of Guwahati who went to the river bank near the Sukreswar temple along with a friend.

He had stepped into the river water but was swept away by the river current and went missing.

SDRF personnel came after they were informed about the incident. After launching a search, they were able to recover the body of the boy.
