BJP declares candidates for 3 Assam by-poll seats; allies AGP, UPPL to contest in rest two
GUWAHATI, Oct 20: The ruling BJP is going all guns blazing in their bid to win all three seats in which it is contesting in the Nov 13 by-elections. The party on Saturday night announced its candidates for the three seats, awarding the party tickets to Diplu Ranjan Sarmah, Diganta Ghatowar and Nihar Ranjan Das in Samaguri, Behali and Dholai (reserved for SC) seats.
The three candidates, after being awarded the party tickets, exuded confidence of coming out in flying colours in the hustings, while thanking the party leadership for their candidature.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also congratulated the three candidates on getting the party ticket and hoped that the “people will bless them in large numbers”.

On the other hand the AGP and the UPPL, which will contest in the constituencies of Bongaigaon and Sidli respectively, are likey to announce their candidates in a day or two.
The party, meanwhile, is continuing its campaign in the three seats.
