Assam: Date for by-polls in five assembly constituencies to be declared today

GUWAHATI, Oct 15: Along with the election dates for the upcoming assembly polls in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, the Election Commission of India is likely to announce the schedule for by-polls in five assembly constituencies in Assam.

By-polls will be held in Bongaigaon, Sidli, Behali, Samaguri and Dholai.

By-polls in these five constituencies were necessitated after the incumbent legislators were all elected to the Lok Sabha in the general elections held earlier this year.
