3 unidentified gunmen killed in shootout with police in Assam’s Silchar

As many as 3 unidentified gunmen suspected to be members of a proscribed group have been killed in a fierce gunbattle at Bhuban Pahar in Assam’s Cachar district in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Inputs suggest that a police team led by Cachar SP Numal Mahatta was attacked by gunmen during an operation in the area last night following the arrest of three other individuals who reportedly had links to a terror group.
