Assam: Dhubri jawan drowns in Ganga while on election duty in Bihar
In a tragic turn of events, a jawan of Assam Rifles died in an accident in Bihar’s Samastipur district.
The deceased jawan has been identified as CN Mintu Roy (23), who hailed from Dhubri district of Assam.
According to Assam Police, the accident took place at Motiour Ghat in Samastipur.
He was a constable of the 1st Assam Police Battalion (APBN). He was among the other jawans deployed on election duty in Samastipur district.
Voting for 5 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar was held on Tuesday.
The mortal remains of CN Mintu Roy are being brought to his home.
Taking to X, the Assam Police condoled the tragic death of Mintu Roy and wrote, “We are deeply saddened to inform that CN Mintu Roy of the 1st APBN, deployed on election duty in Bihar, tragically lost his life in an accident at Motiour Ghat, Samastipur. His mortal remains are being brought to his home in Dhubri.”
