PM Modi to embark on 2-day Assam visit today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Assam commencing on Tuesday at LGBI airport, Guwahati at 7:30 PM.
His convoy will make a beeline from the airport to Koinadhara, where he is scheduled to spend the night at the State Guest House.
On April 17, PM Modi will address a huge rally at Govt Gurdon HS School playground, Nalbari to campaign for AGP candidate from Barpeta constituency Phani Bhushan Choudhury.
Nearly, 2 lakh people are likely to gather in the election rally in Nalbari as per sources.
On the same day, PM Modi will leave for Agartala, for the poll campaign in Tripura.
Speaking on the lines of an election rally, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that PM Modi is scheduled to campaign in Nalbai for BJP ally AGP on April 17.
The goal, he reiterated, was to secure a third consecutive term for Narendra Modi as Prime Minister, aiming to secure at least 13 Lok Sabha seats from Assam.
Meanwhile, on PM Modi’s arrival significant traffic restrictions have been placed on across Guwahati.
Polling for the 14 seats in Assam will be conducted in three phases: April 19, April 26, and May 7. The nationwide elections for 543 Lok Sabha seats will span seven phases, commencing on April 19, with nearly 96.8 crore eligible voters across over 12 lakh polling stations. Vote counting is scheduled for June 4.
