Eid-ul-Fitr to be celebrated in Assam on April 11: Central Hilal Committee, Assam

GUWAHATI, April 9: Eid ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Assam along with the rest of the country on April 11 (Thursday), the Central Hilal Committee, Assam, confirmed today.

Since the moon was not sighted today (April 9), hence Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Assam and the rest of the country on Thursday (April 11), Maulana Sheikh  Fakhruddin Ahmed Kasimi and Alhaj Imdad Hussain, president and general secretary of the Central Hilal Committee, Assam, stated in a press communiqué issued to the media.

Meanwhile, Imams of Delhi’s Jama Masjid and Fatehpuri mosque also confirmed the same that Eid would be celebrated in India on Thursday.
