China couldn’t encroach even an inch of Indian land under PM Modi’s govt, says Amit Shah in Lakhimpur

GUWAHATI, April 9: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government has not let even an inch of Indian soil to be encroached by China and has successfully defended the territory of the country from China’s advances.

Home Minister Shah said this during a massive public rally at Lakhimpur, drumming up support from the BJP candidate and sitting MP Pradan Baruah while at the same time exuding confidence that the BJP and its alliance partners will win at least 12 seats in the State.

Claiming that then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had left Assam and Arunachal Pradesh to fend for themselves during the 1962 Indo-China war, the Union Home Minister said people will never forget such a step-motherly attitude.

“During the Chinese aggression of 1962, Nehru had said ‘bye-bye’ to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. People of these states can never forget such a step-motherly attitude. But now, China could not encroach even a single inch of our land. Even in Doklam, we pushed them back,” Home Minister Shah said.

Shah also took potshots at Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi saying Assam and the northeast was subjected to injustice as thousands of youths walked on the path of unrest and militancy in which several thousands were killed.

“A few days ago, I heard Rahul Gandhi saying that we need to protect Assam’s culture. I want to ask him what did you do with Assam when you were in power? Injustice was done to Assam since the time of your grandmother. Thousands of youths walked on the path of unrest, thousands of youths were killed. This was Congress party’s sin. It is Narendra Modi who established peace in Assam by doing over 10 peace treaties,” he said.

Shah further said that the NDA will retain power winning 400 seats in the hustings and that Narendra Modi will become Prime Minister for the third straight term.

Chief Minsiter Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP candidate Pradan Baruah, Assam Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu, Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka, Dhakuakhana legislator Naba Doley, also accompanied the Union Home Minister in the massive public rally.
