Amit Shah slams Congress over his viral doctored video, says ‘action highlights their frustration’

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday hit out at Congress over his fake video accusing them of fostering confusion and social discord by advocating for religious reservations, a stance vehemently opposed by the BJP, saying that the Opposition should fight elections on manifesto, and not fake video.

Shah added that politics has stooped to a new low under Rahul Gandhi.

Speaking at a press conference in Guwahati, in a scathing attack on the Opposition, especially the Congress Shah asserted, “Congress is sowing seeds of religious discord by pushing for religious reservations. Their attempt to reclassify Muslims into the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category is particularly troubling.”

Shah said, “Their (Congress) frustration reached to such a level that they have spread fake videos of me and several other BJP leaders. Chief Ministers, State president and others have also done the work of forwarding this fake video…Today a prominent leader of the Congress Party is facing a criminal offence.”

The Union home minister said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) believes that reservation cannot be given based on religion. However, the party supports quota for for SCs, STs and OBCs.

“Congress is spreading misinformation that BJP will end reservation after crossing 400 seats. These things are baseless and factless… I want to make it clear that BJP is a supporter of reservation for SCs, STs, and OBCs and will always play its role as protector…”

“Congress is spreading misinformation that BJP will end reservation after crossing 400 seats. These things are baseless and without facts. I want to make it clear that BJP is a supporter of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs, and will always play its role as protector,” Amit Shah added.

Shah also said the BJP is heading towards its goal of 400-plus Lok Sabha seats with the blessings and support of people.

“The Congress is spreading lies about the saffron party changing the constitution and ending reservations… We do not see voters as minority or majority; the BJP will win 12 of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam,” he told a press conference here.

“The BJP does not believe in reservations on the basis of religion… we are also in favour of implementing the Uniform Civil Code across the country,” the home minister said.

Shah asserted that the party was getting a “very good response” from voters in the southern states, too.

Highlighting their track record of governance, Shah emphasized their decade-long tenure marked by majority victories and significant legislative reforms, particularly in overturning antiquated laws dating back to the British colonial era.

Despite accusations from the Congress of spreading misinformation, BJP reassures the public that constitutional provisions safeguarding the rights of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) will remain steadfast and intact. Moreover, they adamantly assert their commitment to preserving reservations for these marginalized communities.

Amit Shah while slamming Congress party said that the party is stooping low by making deep fake videos and spreading rumours among the people. He urged people to listen to the truth instead of believing on fake videos.

A Congress functionary of Assam was arrested on Monday for allegedly sharing a “fake video” of Amit Shah. The arrested Guwahati resident, 31-year-old Reetam Singh, is associated with the Assam Congress and functions as the party’s ‘War Room Coordinator’.

In the said doctored video, which was widamitely circulated on various social media platforms, Shah is seen addressing a rally in Telangana and saying that if BJP forms government then they will end the SC, ST and OBC reservation.

However, in the original speech he had said that if the BJP forms government then they will end unconstitutional reservation given to Muslims as it is the rights of Telangana SC, ST and OBC, said Karpe in his statement to the police complaint.
