Assam: Union Home Minister Amit Shah to attend Tezpur, Guwahati events today
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on the second day of his 2-day visit to Assam, is attending the 61st Raising Day celebration of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the SSB complex in Tezpur this morning.
Later, Shah will also attend the 13th triennial conference of the All Bathou Mahasabha at Dhekiajuli.
He will then head to Guwahati where the Home Minister will attend the passing-out parade of 2,551 Assam Police commandos at the Sarusajai Stadium.
Later, he will release a book titled ‘Assam’s Braveheart Lachit Barphukhan’ at Srimanta Sankardeva International Auditorium.
The union home minister will also inaugurate the much-awaited Brahmaputra Riverfront in Guwahati later in the evening, before leaving for Delhi.
Yesterday Home Minister Shah addressed the 71st Plenary Session of the Northeast Council in Shillong where he said that the Modi government has allocated Rs. 4800 crores for the year 2022-23 to 2025-26 for the Northeast and there is an increase of about 162 percent in the budget.
