Assam CM visits Bosa Bhorolua village, meets kin of bus accident victims; hands over Rs 2.5 lakh ex-gratia each to kin of 11 dead
GUWAHATI, Jan 23: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met families and next of kin of the Dergaon bus accident victims at Bocha Bharalua village in Assam’s Golaghat district today.
Chief Minister Sarma paid tributes to the 11 people from the village who had died in the accident that took place in the wee hours of Jan 3.
He also handed over cheques of Rs 2.5 lakh each to the families of the 11 dead besides inquring about the health of the injured and assuring all-possible help in their treatment.
Eleven people from Bosa Bhorolua village, who were part of around 45 people travelling to Tinsukia district for a visit to the Tilinga Mandir, were among the 12 people who had died in the tragic mishap.
The 12th deceased was the driver of the coal-laden truck that had collided head on with the ill-fated bus carrying the pilgrims who had also planned a picnic at Dibru Saikhowa after offering prayers at the famous temple.
