Guwahati double murder case: Prime accused Bandana Kalita granted bail

Prime suspect in the sensational Guwahati double murder case, Bandana Kalita has been granted bail on November 9.

The Kamrup-Metro district and sessions court granted bail to Bandana Kalita on Thursday.

According to reports, Bandana Kalita will have to appear at Noonmati police station in Guwahati city of Assam two days a week.

Moreover, she will not be able to leave her home district without the court’s permission.

It may be mentioned that Bondona Kalita is the prime accused who hatched the plot and killed her husband Amarjit Dey and mother-in-law Shankari Dey with help of Arup and Dhanjit.

The trio murdered the mother-son duo, and chopped their body into pieces before disposing them at Dawki in Meghalaya.

In deep gorges at Dawki, the Guwahati Police found several missing parts of the body of the deceased Amarjyoti, including his hands and legs. In addition, the police found a T-shirt and the body of the deceased Amarjyoti in another location in Dawki.

Although the two murders were committed on the months of July and Aug 2022 but they came to light on February 2023.
