Bakery cook beaten to death by co-worker at Hajo

A bakery employee in Assam’s Hajo district was allegedly killed by a coworker on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred in Ruchi Bakery, Abhaypur area in Hojo district.

The deceased has been as identified Dhaneswar Deka, who was allegedly attacked with a stick by another worker Upen Kari.

The motive behind the escalation remains unclear.

According to reports, Kari repeatedly attacked the victim Deka, with a wooden stick, leading to severe injuries and ultimately, death.

Local police, upon receiving information, reached the scene and recovered the body for post-mortem.

Currently, the alleged accused Kari has been absconding.

Meanwhile, Nayanjyoti Thakuria, the bakery owner, is being interrogated about the case.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
