Singer Zubeen Garg terms AJP ‘Fotua’ party, AJP hits back
GUWAHATI, Aug 29: Heartthrob singer Zubeen Garg has once again made his name to news headlines, this time not for his musical accomplishments, after he termed the newly-formed Asom Jatiya Party or the AJP a ‘Fotua’ or nonsensical party.
The heartthrob singer first made the remark against the AJP at a programme at Cotton College, Guwahati, while repeating it an hour later at the launch of this season’s plays at Brindaban Theatres at Chandrapur.
Zubeen Garg’s comment against the AJP has angered leaders and workers of the party with president of the party, Lurinjyoti Gogoi, reacting strongly to the singer’s statement.
Meanwhile, leaders of the Morigaon unit of AJP lodged a complaint against Zubeen Garg at Morigaon Police Station on the basis of which police registered an FIR against the singer.
