Guwahati: 48 Assam Naval Unit NCC and Alumnis celebrates 77th Independence Day with Sishu Sarothi

On this auspicious occasion of the 77th Independence Day, 48 Assam Naval Unit, NCC, Ghy Grp, spearheaded a unique and inspiring celebration in collaboration with the renowned NGO, Sishu Sarothi. The event aimed to showcase inclusivity and honor the meantaly physically disabled challenged students of the NGO.

Under the esteemed presence of Mrs. Keteki Bordoloi, Executive Director, and Mrs. Mridula Barua, Deputy Director of Sishu Sarothi, the ceremonial Flag Hoisting ceremony took place. Nearly 200 physically challenged students, accompanied by their guardians, witnessed this proud moment alongside NCC cadets, PI staff, ANOs, NCC Alumni, and representative of Asian Pacific Learning Leverage Ltd (APLL).

At this grand event, the National Anthem resonated with the physically challenged students as they expertly communicated through sign language. The inspiring display of unity across abilities was a true testament to the power of inclusivity.

Following the Flag Hoisting, an enriching cultural program unfolded at the auditorium of Sishu Sarothi. The NCC cadets and students of the NGO came together to exhibit their exceptional talents. One of the highlights of the program was a fancy dress segment, where the special children of the NGO depicted the valiant war heroes of Assam, such as Lachit Barphukan, Mula Gabhoru, and Kanaklata to name a few, who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

The audience was captivated by the passion and enthusiasm displayed by these remarkable individuals. The event truly served as a reminder of the indomitable spirit that exists within each one of us. Lieutenant Commander Debanand Doley, Commanding Officer 48 Naval Unit, NCC and Abhisekh Gupta, a Trainer cum Motivational Speaker & Senior Alumni from 48 Naval Unit, NCC expressed heartfelt gratitude to Sishu Sarothi for their unwavering support in facilitating a seamless and memorable event.

The celebration was concluded on a joyous note with an exchange of mementos and gifts that were distributed to every child present at the NGO.

The collaboration of 48 Assam Naval Unit NCC with Sishu Sarothi not only showcased the commitment of the NCC towards inclusivity but also acted as a catalyst for inspiring others to embrace the potential within every individual.
