Assam: Woman stabs husband to death in Silchar

In another gruesome incident, a woman in Silchar stabbed her husband to death on Wednesday.

The shocking incident took place at Kabiura Meherpur in Assam’s Silchar today.

The horrifying stabbing incident came to the fore when the wife reached Silchar Police to surrender after having committed the murder.

Silchar Police identified the culprit as Mappi Begum, wife of the victim. Meanwhile, the husband, who was stabbed to death, has been identified as Farmin Uddin Laskar.

This comes amid the spine-chilling Guwahati double murder in which Bandana Kalita, along with her two associates, killed her mother-in-law and her husband and then chopped off the bodies into pieces before disposing them at Dawki in Meghalaya.

Although the two murders were committed on July 26 and Aug 17, they came to light on Sunday.

Akin to the Guwahati murder, where police suspect prime accused Bondona Kalita to have been involved in an extra-marital affair, police in Silchar also suspect that illicit relationship outside of her marriage was the reason behind the stabbing incident.

Further investigation into the matter has been launched by Silchar Police.
