Recruitment process clean, little scope for anomalies to have crept in, says GP Singh on backdoor appointment allegations
Guwahati: Special DGP of Assam GP Singh on Friday rejected allegations of anomalies in the recently-held recruitment examination for 26,000 Grade III and Grade IV posts in Assam saying the tests were conducted in the best possible manner and that no anomalies have so far come to light that may question the fairness in which the tests were conducted.
The comments come at a time when a person named Victor Das, who owns a coaching institute in Guwahati, tweeted in which he questioned the fairness of the examination claiming that “a huge lobby is running for the backdoor appointment” and that “people are demanding money from 3 lakhs to 8 lakhs depending on the post”. “Respected Sir, a huge lobby is running for the backdoor appointment of the recently held ADRE exams where people are demanding money from 3 lakhs to 8 lakhs depending on the post, also a few ex-MLA is involved. Please help,” he tweeted, tagging Special DGP GP Singh, GDP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma besides seeking their intervention in the matter.
When News Live contacted Singh, who is also the ADGP of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption unit of the Assam Police, he refuted the allegations leveled by Das and directed him to furnish proof to substantiate his allegations.
