On this teacher’s Day let us celebrate our teachers and their hard work in shaping our future
Guwahati: From imparting invaluable knowledge and making learning fun to guiding one towards the right path, a teacher’s contribution to one’s life is unmatched. Teachers’ Day is celebrated on September 5 to honour educators and recognise the effort that they put into shaping young individuals.
There is no doubt that being a teacher is a noble profession that deserves an equal amount of love and respect as any other profession. On Teachers’ Day, students all over the country pay respect and tribute to their teachers. Teachers’ Day is a reminder of the role that teachers play in nation-building by guiding and educating the brightest minds of our country.
Celebration of teacher’s day fills a festive vibe throughout the schools and colleges. It is the occasion to celebrate the essence of wisdom and guidance our teachers bring into our lives. It is a great occasion to celebrate the joy of the relationship between teacher and student. This day is important as its objective is to remember and remind the crucial role teachers to play in framing students’ lives and careers. This day is to recognize and celebrate each teacher’s contribution and efforts, without whom we would not be who we are today.
Teachers are the real holders of knowledge, information, and prosperity, using which they develop and prepare us for our lives.
There is an old saying, “Parents are our first teachers and teachers are our second parents.” From teaching us basic things to help overcome hurdles of life, teachers have always been there to help and guide us to shape ourselves right. Teachers not only teach us but they also improve our personality, confidence, and skill level. Teachers do the work of nation-building by building the future of the citizens living in the country.
The light of the world, the beacon in the dark and the hope that gives us strength to survive, is our teacher. A day, kept aside to honour the gifted souls who work every day to make sure that the future is bright for all of us. It is a day filled with lots of excitement, joy and happiness as students are eagerly looking forward to telling their teachers how and why are they special to them.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam has rightly said, ‘I believe there is no other profession in the world that is more important to society than that of a teacher.’ Teachers are the backbone of our society. They spearhead change by shaping and building students’ personalities and making them ideal citizens of the country. As one looks at the great impact on the growth, development and wellbeing of the students and nation, one must agree that teaching is a noble profession. There is a saying that teachers are greater than the parents. Parents give birth to a child whereas teachers mould that child’s personality and provide a bright future.
Apart from academics, teachers stand by us at every step to guide, motivate and inspire us to become better humans. They are the source of knowledge and wisdom.
Though becoming a teacher is not an easy task, they have to be patient and solve their students’ problems for a better future. They teach their students about the importance of time and how to manage and achieve something in their life. They teach us how to respect our elders and parents and how to treat other people around us. The future and present of children totally depend on the education they get from their teachers and it is only they who sometimes become our best friends and help us to remove the mess created by us somewhere in our life.
It is impossible to define ‘teacher’ as teachers are not only limited to teaching or guiding students in academics but also helping students to take the right path. They add value to our character and make us ideal citizens of the country.
Secondly, teachers are our second parents. Teachers play a prominent role in influencing and inspiring us. Every student tries to imitate their teachers and considers them as their role models. After parents, teachers take the responsibility of moulding a child’s character at each and every step. And teachers teach us a lot about life and academics.
Therefore, it is our utmost duty to salute and convey our wishes to teachers today in recognition of their undeterred efforts. Teachers are the building blocks of our lives. We must thank our teachers for moulding us into worthy people to face the world boldly. As students, we have been sometimes tough to handle. But individual attention of teachers has helped us learn from our mistakes and grow.
