Man impersonating as doctor held at GMCH

Bhangagarh Police on Thursday arrested a person for impersonating as a doctor at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

The arrested person, identified as Dr Pranabjyoti Das, had forged an identity card of GMCH and added his personal details to it and went around roaming at the newly-built Cardiology and Neurosciences Centre.

The person was earlier employed with a pharmaceutical company and had reportedly forged the Identity Card during the outbreak of COVID.

He has been taken into custody by Bhangagarh Police and is being interrogated.
