Guwahati: Sarab Bhatti flyover to be open for commuters from Sep 30
Guwahati: In a bit of relief for the commuters of Guwahati the flyover near Arya Vidyapeeth College which has been in construction since the pandemic will be open for everyone from September 30.
The flyover will be opened for the commuters before the India-South Africa T20 match which is to be played in Barsapara Cricket Stadium on 2nd October in Guwahati.
Speaking to the media Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “We have decided to quicken the construction activities and the flyover will be ready for the public before the India-South Africa T20 match which is to be played in Barsapara Stadium”.
CM Sarma also added, “This decision was taken so as to avoid any traffic jams as many people would be rushing to the stadium to witness a cricket spectacle after like 2 years”.
According to an official, the two teams will be arriving in the city on 29th September.
Notably, the cricket fans in Assam went home with a heavy heart after rain played spoilsport two years ago in Barsapara when India was to take on Sri Lanka in a T20 encounter on January 5, 2020.
