Jihadi crackdown continues in Assam; another person arrested in Morigaon
GUWAHATI, July 29: The crackdown launched on radical elements by Assam Police continues with another person from Morigaon named Afsaruddin Bhuyan, a resident of Milanpur in Morigaon, arrested for his links with the Al Qaeda in Indian Sub-continent (AQIS) and the Ansarul Bangla Team (ABT).
Afsaruddin was arrested in connection with the same case in which Mufti Mustafa, an important financial conduit of the AQIS/ABT Module, was arrested by Morigaon Police.

Mustafa was running a Madrassa named Jamiul Huda Madrassa and Banat Madrassa which were used as harbour and safe house for fundamentalist activities of the AQIS and ABT.
Meanwhile, eight teachers of another Madrassa who were detained by Morigaon Police were taken to Morigaon SP’s office where they are being subjected to marathon quizzing.
Meanwhile, another module of the AQIS supported ABT module in Barpeta district was also busted and 8 persons were arrested for indoctrination, recruitment, training and collection of funds for terrorist activities.
