Yoga Sessions mark International Yoga Day, Assam CM leads at Dibrugarh
Guwahati: 8th International Day of Yoga day is being celebrated all over India today. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi led countries Yoga Day celebrations from the historic Mysore Palace in Karnataka.
Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma who is in Dibrugarh since Rabha Divas & cultural awards yesterday took part in Yoga day celebrations in Dibrugarh’s Chowkidingee Field along with Power Minister Bimal Bora, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta and others.

Stressing on the importance of Yoga in today’s stress filled lives PM Modi said that Yoga has to be made a ‘Way of Life’ rather than a ‘Part of Life’. He highlighted that this Yoga day celebrations a Guardian Ring has been formed with different parts of the world doing Yogasanas on this day. He was accompanied by Union Ayush Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Chief Minister of Karnataka V Bommai.

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke at length about the role of Yoga, its rich heritage and philosophy at Yoga Day celebrations at Dibrugarh. Later they performed different Yogasanas in a session of more than an hour along with those present in the centralised programme.
