Two murders in 24 hours send shockwaves among Guwahati residents

Guwahati: Two murders in the last 24-hours in the city have sent shock waves among residents of Guwahati. 

In the first case, Ajit Chetia, an accountant in Amtron was reportedly found dead at his residence at Hareswar Basumatary Path in the Boragaon area of Guwahati.

According to the preliminary investigation, the police suspected that the man was murdered with a motive of burglary.

The police informed that man was found dead with a bullet injury on his head.

The body of the deceased was sent for post mortem to figure out the exact cause of death.

It has been also reported that valuable items from his house have also been stolen after the incident.

An investigation is underway in connection with the incident.

In the second incident, a retired Railway employee identified to be Kajal Chandra Das was found dead in Bamunimaidam’s Railway Colony on Monday morning.

He was reportedly killed with a sharp weapon.

The police are now investigating the matter and further details are awaited.
