Guwahati: Co-workers gang-rape woman; 4 held

Guwahati: In a heinous incident, a woman has allegedly been gang-raped by her co-workers in Hatigaon area of Guwahati in Assam on Wednesday.

Police have arrested three accused in connection with the case who have been identified as Naimuddin, Mukul Islam, and Ashraful Amin.

Meanwhile, the owner of the commercial establishment where the victim and the three culprits worked has also been arrested. He is identified as Rafik Ali.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when the three accused reportedly took the girl to a house in the locality for lunch and then gang-raped her.

It is also to be mentioned that last night an alleged child molester was shot by a team of Assam Police.

The accused was identified as Idris Ali, who reportedly raped a 3-year-old and was arrested by the Batadraba police.

The incident occurred when Ali tried to escape from police custody when he was being taken for a medical checkup after which he was shot by the police.

He is currently being treated at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. Ali had reportedly committed the heinous crime of April 19.
