Guwahati: Amid a recent uptick in Covid-19 cases in the national capital, the Delhi government on Friday issued a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for schools.
The order also advised parents to not send their children to school if they test positive for coronavirus.
Furthermore, schools have been advised to hold meetings with the School Management Committee and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) on the prevailing Covid situation.
The students should be advised to avoid sharing lunch and stationery items with other students to minimise transmission and encourage social distancing.
Quarantine rooms have to be available at schools. Encourage vaccination among the students and parents, the order read.
In addition to this, the Head of school should ensure that all eligible students/staff/guests should wear face masks properly.
The SOP outlines various precautionary measures to be adopted in schools to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection.
COVID-19 CASES IN DELHI
The national capital has been witnessing an upward trend in Covid-19 cases in the past few days.
On Thursday, Delhi logged 965 fresh Covid cases with a positivity rate of 4.71 per cent while one person died due to the infection. It was 1,009 on Wednesday, 632 on Tuesday and 501 on Monday.
